Working principle of DC motor
The basic working principle of the DC motor is that When a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a mechanical force.
- The flux is created by a field winding.
- Armature winding plays the role of current carrying conductor.
The magnitude of Force:
F = BIL Newtons
Where,
B = magnetic flux density,
I = current and
L = length of the conductor within the magnetic field.
The direction of rotation is determined by Fleming’s Left Hand Rule.
